Polyak Breast SAGE Anatomic Viewer

The laboratory of Dr. Kornelia Polyak has been analyzing the gene expression profiles (using SAGE) of individual cell types, including cells with progenitor properties, isolated from normal breast (NB) tissue, ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), and metastatic tumors. The results have been published in Cancer Cell, 2004, 6:17-32 and Cancer Cell, 2007, 11:259-73. The CGAP Polyak Breast SAGE Anatomic Viewer visually displays the expression of a specific gene in the isolated cell types.

CD44+ represents CD44 positive human breast epithelial progenitor-like cells
PROCR+ represents CD44 and PROCR positive human breast epithelial progenitor-like cells
P1H12+ represents CD146 positive endothelial cells
CD45+ represents CD45 positive cells of hematopoietic origin (leukocytes) except erythocytes and platelets and their precursor cells
CD24+ represents CD24 positive differentiated luminal epithelial cells
